Time Management Basics

Time management is the most important asset one can have these days, with the collapse of traditional values any person can find himself running a few, parallel different lives all at once. I am sure you are not a stranger to this situation, you have too much you need to do, you do not have the time, and you see all your leisure time fade away as you calculate how will you manage to do all these things you must.

Not only do most people know this situation, most people know something about time management, but fail to understand it correctly and most importantly, fail to comprehend the basic concepts of time management and implement them in their very busy lives.

Time management is not about doing too many things in less time but doing right things at right time in right way. How you manage your time is part of your personal agenda. However, there are a few generic steps that help you manage your time in a better way, more so in case of executives and ever-occupied corporate.

It take the average adult about 5 years until he or she understands that they had enough of stress and trouble over not getting the work done on time, the laundry on time and all those family activities they have been wishing to do for so long - ever. Time management is the answer to most of these problems and almost anyone can find a way to have a little more time to do more things and enjoy life a whole lot more.

The first step towards effective time management, and a regular time management routine is to set clear goals and targets, keeping your mind on the target and goal will assist you in getting where you want . Goal setting makes you more focused and sets a direction for how the tasks should proceed. The goals should be clear, concise, unambiguous. Try and evaluate, realistically, how much time you got and what you want to achieve and than set a plan of getting it.

This planning will allow you to “see” time and plan how to use it, you will know how much time you want to allocate to any task and you will also have the ability to keep an eye on your advancement as you go along, taking more time if needed or delaying the goal when realizing it will take more time.

Prioritizing is the most important thing in time management, you need to understand how to create an importance level and assign it to all the things in your life, your time management will be as successful and as clear as the priority you set in your life. Important point to be remembered here is that prioritizing does not mean doing only what is important and leaving out on rest, rather it is doing what is important first and then proceeding with the rest.

Scheduling and Routine Setting: Scheduling binds your prioritized tasks and goals in a time frame such that you get a productive outcome of your available time. A carefully made schedule motivates you to complete your tasks on time and cuts down on the time bandits by limiting the amount of time you spend on a particular task.

These steps outline the basics of effective time management.

Modern Wedding Invitations For the Tragically Hip

Modern living isn’t just a lifestyle - it’s a look.

Think streamlined. Understated. It’s all about high-quality
materials and simple lines. How do you get this in a modern
wedding invitation? Think design, color, and texture.

Modern Design

Yesterday’s wedding invitations were ornate creations on heavy
white paper. Rectangular paper. Really rebellious people used a
colored ink for the text.

Boring.

Now, it’s all about choices. Modern invitations come in any
shape you can dream up. Squares. Circles. Or in the form of
ticket stubs.

And the envelopes that hold them are gorgeous.

Stroll through a specialty paper store. You’ll find envelopes
that open like flowers. Or origami-like structures with
intricate folds.

The modern invitation isn’t just a message. It’s a work of art.

And a keepsake in its own right.

Modern Color

White never goes out of style. But it isn’t the only option.

Choose a paper in a vivid color if that suits your personality.

A more modern invitation has layers. Choose a deep color for
the base layer. Glue on a smaller sheet in a neutral shade.
Coordinate the invitation colors with your wedding.

You’ve just created eye candy.

Modern Texture

The modern invitation moves beyond your basic smooth paper.

You can find paper embedded with leaves. Or flowers. Two-tone
shimmery paper. Paper so nubby you start petting it.

With all these choices, it’s easy to go crazy. You want your
wedding invitations to be fun. And beautiful.

But your guests should know what it is when it comes in the
mail.

For the perfect modern look, balance all of these factors.

Let your outer envelope sport a nubby texture. Or a cool shape.
Let your guest find a clean white square mounted on a lavish
background color.

Let the color, texture, and design draw them into the mood of
your wedding. Before they even arrive.

The modern invitation isn’t just a look. It’s an experience.
It’s perfection.

No Pain, No Gain Isn’t True For Arthritis, But Exercise Is Still Important

Recent studies have shown that exercise may acually help people with arthritis in a number of ways. It can reduce joint pain and stiffness. It can increase flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance. And it can also help with weight reduction and contribute to an improved sense of well-being.

Most comprehensive arthritis treatment plans should include an exercise regiment. Rest and relaxation, proper diet, medication, and instruction about proper use of joints and ways to conserve energy (that is, not to waste motion), as well as the use of pain relief methods should also be included in treatment plans.

What types of exercises are best for people with arthritis? Try these three:

Range-of-motion exercises to help maintain normal joint movement, relieve stiffness, and increase flexibility.

Strengthening exercises to help keep or increase muscle strength. Strong muscles help support and protect joints affected by arthritis.

Aerobic or endurance exercises to improve cardiovascular fitness, help control weight, and improve overall function. Weight control can be important to people who have arthritis because extra weight puts extra pressure on joints.

As always, people with arthritis should discuss their options with their doctors before starting on an exercise program. Easy, range-of-motion exercises and low-impact aerobics are gennerally a good way to get started. And make sure to ask your doctor about any sports or exercise programs in which you currently participate. Some programs may do more harm than good.

You should also be aware that your doctor may decide to refer you to a physical therapist. A therapist with experience in arthritis can design an appropriate home exercise program and teach you about pain-relief methods, proper body mechanics, joint protection, and conserving energy.

So what’s the best way to get going?

First, always first, discuss your exercise plans with your doctor.

Next, start with supervision from a physical therapist or a qualified athletic trainer.

Apply heat to sore joints.

Stretch and warm up with range-of-motion exercises.

Start strengthening exercises slowly with small weights (a 1 or 2 pound weight can make a big difference).

Progress slowly.

Use cold packs after exercising.

Add aerobic exercise.

Ease off if joints become painful, inflamed, or red and work with your doctor to find the cause and eliminate it.

Like any exercise program, choose a program you enjoy and make it a habit.

Range-of-motion exercises should be done at least every other day. Strengthening exercises also should be done at least every other day unless you have severe pain or swelling in your joints. Endurance exercises should be done for 20 to 30 minutes three times a week unless you have severe pain or swelling in your joints.

Daylily ‘When My Sweetheart Returns’

By now most of us have heard of everblooming daylilies or at least the most popular one - Stella De’Oro. New daylilies are always being introduced, but many of the new and old daylilies bloom only once a season. There are a handful of new daylilies that are truly repeat bloomers, with several cycles of blooms, allowing you to enjoy their beauty from late spring until well into autumn. This week we are featuring another one of these everblooming beauties - ‘When My Sweetheart Returns.’ It is one of the newest creations of master breeder Dr. Darrel Apps, who is also known for other popular repeat-blooming daylilies including ‘Rosy Returns’, ‘Happy Returns’ and ‘Big Time Happy.’

Enjoy This Unique Color Combination until Late Fall!

‘When My Sweetheart Returns’ combines colors that are not common amongst daylilies - yellow, pink and green. The five inch blooms are lemon creme and have bold rose eyes and bright lemon throats, grass green tonsils and white midribs - a striking combination that will brighten your garden from June until fall! This daylily has a neat, compact habit, reaching just 16 inches high with deep green foliage that will clump quickly. Each stem will have about 2 dozen buds for a continuous show of gorgeous blooms; and you can expect literally dozens and dozens of stems, throughout the season, from a mature clump. It’s compact habit makes ‘When My Sweetheart Returns’ ideal for smaller gardens, containers, planted along the edge of a border, walkway or patio or planted in mass. ‘When My Sweetheart Returns’ is ideal for colorscaping the foreground of a sunny foundation planting. Everyone can find a spot for this lovely daylily! For additional color this autumn interplant your daylilies with spring-blooming flower bulbs.

Planting and Care

‘When My Sweetheart Returns’ is very low-maintenance, requiring just well-drained soil in a sunny location to give you years of beauty!

  • For best results plant in spring or fall.
  • Performs best in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade.
  • Plant 24 inches apart in well-drained soil.
  • Fertilize in early spring and late fall with Flower-Tone and Kelp Meal.
  • Hardy in Zones 4-9.

Outdoor Play: a Great Way for Kids to get Outside and using Their Imagination

“Summer is a wonderful time of year when children can enjoy
lots of fresh air and outdoor play. There is certainly no
shortage of excellent activities, toys and accessories to
entertain and inspire children of all ages.”

Some of the favorite activities among kids include; bubbles,
inflatable bouncers and play sets, kites and wind spinners,
outdoor furniture, playhouses and play tents, pools and water
fun, and sandboxes and beach toys.

Bubbles are one of those outdoor activities that can be enjoyed
by babies to adults. Blowing bubbles has never had quite so many
options to choose from as it does today. There are plastic
bubble lawn mowers, bubble catchers, bubble vision glasses,
bubble wands, bubble lights, wands for small to super huge
bubbles, no spill bubble buckets, monster bubble blowers, bubble
blizzards (that blow nonstop bubbles) and bubble blowers
available in popular fictional characters and a myriad of colors
and styles. Blowing bubbles is an inexpensive way to have hours
of outdoor fun.

One of the most exciting types of play for young children
involves using the wide variety of inflatable bouncers and play
sets on the market. Your backyard will be the center of activity
if you set up one of these wonderful toys. Inflatable bouncers
can be purchased in several different sizes from large (9 feet
by 9 feet by 6 feet high) able to accommodate several children
to small bouncers that only hold two children. Deluxe bouncers
offer a fun and safe play environment with continuous air flow
for safety and puncture resistant heavy gauge vinyl. There is a
wide selection of designs such as castles, popular fictional
character themes, inflatable fire engines, school buses,
climbing walls, inflatable cars, inflatable play centers and
playhouses. Several of the inflatable toys come with soft balls
included for tossing, kicking and pushing around within the
structure.

Kites, wind spinners and windsocks are a wonderful way for you
and your child to interact and enjoy a lovely outdoor activity.
The beautiful colors, designs and sizes available will surely be
remembered for years to come. Kites can be purchased in an
endless array of designs to include; airplanes with spinning
propellers, helicopters, birds (flamingos and parrots), sharks,
dolphins, butterflies, hummingbirds, fish, dragons, cellular box
kites, dolphin kites, sailboats, cellular kites, diamond kites,
parasail kites and tri-planes to only name a few. Wind spinners
and windsocks come in as many designs as do the kites, in an
assortment of fantastic colors and patterns.

Children can enjoy the same comfort that adults do when it comes
to outdoor furniture. Whether it be having lunch at their
favorite plastic or wooden picnic table or lounging back in
their adirondack chair, it’s always fun for them to be just like
mom or dad. Other adorable pieces of children’s outdoor
furniture can include; playhouses (complete with doorbell and
motion detector), patio sets (with umbrella, table and chairs),
fabric patio chairs, plastic mushroom tables, play lemonade
stands, plastic mailboxes, plastic stone benches and folding
armchairs.

Playhouses provide children with hours of imaginative and
pretend play. There is nothing more special to a child than
having their own little imaginary home to dream and role play
in. Playhouses will often be a part of backyard outdoor toys in
either plastic or wooden designs with climbers and swings. Some
of the plastic playhouses are available with sounds such as
doorbells, phones and motion detectors. Plastic playhouses can
be purchased in pirate, cottage, log cabin, mushroom house and
camper styles.

Similar to playhouses, play tents are usually made with nylon
or plastic and also come in a wide variety of designs and
styles. The biggest difference between the two is that play
tents are usually much easier to assemble, disassemble and
portable if needed. Play tents are available in tunnels (for
crawling through), dome play tents, lady bug tents, tents with
tunnel addition, school bus, fire engine, bulldozer, playhouses,
camouflage tents, popular fictional character theme tents, four
tunnels joined by tent in middle, tee pees and castle tents.
Fabric parachutes can also be used as tents draped over objects
in the home or used for throwing up toys with children in a
circle.

It truly feels like summer once everyone has gone for a swim.
Pools offer wonderful relief from the hot weather and a
refreshing way to have some fun. There is a mountain of pools
and pool toys to choose from, whether it be a kiddie pool or a
pool lounger there is no shortage of options. Above ground
inflatable pools can be found in different sizes to accommodate
the kids or the whole family. Kiddie pools are available in
sunshade cover designs, popular character themes, different
colors and activity pool styles. The pool toys you select will
only add to the enjoyment with water guns and canons, kick
boards, lifejackets, inflatable water wings, retrieval toys,
rafts and loungers, inflatable sharks, tubes, inflatable
basketball hoops, seat rings and beach balls to name a few.

Lastly, playing in the sand can provide both learning skills and
entertainment for any child, whether it be in their backyard
sandbox or at the beach. Building sandcastles and sand play is
particularly helpful in teaching social skills (sharing,
interacting and cooperation), cognitive skills (measuring sand
and mapping out roads) and physical skills (pouring, dumping,
pushing and gathering sand etc.). Sandbox kits can be purchased
to set up or you can select from several designs such as;
turtles, castles, water and sand tables, ladybug, dinosaur and
frog sandboxes. Sandbox and beach accessories might include;
wheelbarrows, pails of all sizes, rakes, shovels, molds and
beach chairs.

Outdoor play is a great way for the kids to get out of the house
and use their imaginations. All forms of outdoor activities
easily promote well-being and physical development. Children
love to play outdoors as it allows them the chance to freely
explore their environment while developing muscle coordination,
flexibility and motor skills while decreasing restlessness and
stress. And don’t forget . . . always remember to put sunscreen
on your child whenever they are outside.

Modular Building for Many Purposes

Are you familiar with a modular building? You may have seen them at your local elementary or high school-or even your church. Some of them look so much like other traditional buildings you may not even know that you are looking at a modular building. But, what is a modular building? It is a building that is constructed at a factory away from the building site and then it is moved in pieces and put on a foundation that has been prepared at the site. They can be one or more stories. They can be rectangular, square, or any other shape. They are an inexpensive and fairly efficient way to construct a new building.

A modular building is useful when you want to get a new building constructed in a very timely manner. A modular building generally takes less time to build than a traditional building and this can really appeal to many organizations such as schools in rapidly growing areas that need more room for students within just a few months time. They usually have a very simple and practical design that is well suited for office buildings as well. You can also have a home built with a modular building construction and these can have many of the features of a traditional home, such as brick, stucco, or siding and many different floor plans as well.

Another great thing about a modular building is the cost. Because there are a limited number of floor plans and features to choose from, the manufacturers can save greatly on the cost of these homes. They also do not take long to build, cutting down on the labor cost in that way as well. These savings are passed on to you as the consumer. You will, however, have to pay for the transportation of your building to the site. If you want additional features and design options this may also entail more work on the building once it gets to the site, adding to the cost.

There are other limitations to these buildings as well, which may or may not be a concern for you. They often are constructed with ceilings that are only 8 feet tall as opposed to a traditional ceiling height of 9 or 10 feet in most homes and buildings.

If the advantages of going with modular construction appeal to you, you can find many manufacturers and floor plans online to get an idea of what’s available.

Eriani Doyel writes articles about Building. If you would like more information about modular building visit reedbuilding.com

Casino Affiliate Programs

One can set up his or her own affiliate program or tools to help affiliates. The process and the very advantage of these affiliate programs are very simple. With the opening of the window of your website, these affiliate programs will come to the screen in the form of a small window. If the visitor of your website chooses to go to a particular program by clicking on it or fulfilling other criterions, such as giving some information of him or herself, giving the email address, or filling out certain online forms, the website with which the program was affiliated gets money. Usually the calculation is done on the basis of the number of visitors of these affiliated programs.

Casino sites and casino affiliate programs have the highest potential to generate revenue. However, if you want to avail such opportunities to make some handsome amount of money just on the basis of such affiliate programs, you have to carefully design the logo or the banner of the free program that want to get affiliated with. Usually, the casino sites are filled up with a number of offers, texts, banners and other buttons. So the place where you put these banners also becomes an important factor.

Last but not the least comes the question of the software that you are using to design the logo, the banner or the text. These are thee three important factors whose manipulation and arrangement becomes a key factor in attracting the attention of the visitor. The more they are attractive in terms of texts, banners, color and design, the more are the chances that the visitor would visit them.

Nevertheless, according to a recent report it has been observed that PokerAffiliate.com, one of the very well known casino affiliate programs, has earned up to 40% Revenue Share and/or $150 CPA (Cost per Affiliate). Credit and Its Cost

What is Credit?
Credit is money granted by a lender (or creditor) to a debtor (or borrower) whereby the lender defers receiving payment of the debt for a period. In exchange for the credit allowed, the lender will get back the money lent plus interest. The borrower has use of the money immediately, rather than waiting until the money required is saved up.

It enables the borrower to pay for things immediately, even if they cannot afford to pay for it themselves. Interest is the compensation required by the lender for the use of his/her money. There is a time value to money because of inflation, by way of an interest charge.

What is the Cost of Credit?
The cost, or charge, for using credit debt is called interest. This interest can either be simple interest or compound interest.

  • Simple interest
This is interest charged only on the principal amount borrowed. Simple interest does not add interest that’s due, back on to the principal amount because it is usually paid out.
  • Compound interest
This is interest charged, not only on the principal amount owing, but also on the interest that has been accrued on that principal amount. The interest is added on to the principal and then the new interest is calculated on the new total of those two items.

What happens is that there is a compounding effect, so that interest is charged on the interest. The result is that the lender receives a higher and higher return because the interest charge is levied, not only on the amount originally lent, but also on all interest due on the amounts over the term of the loan.

APR - Interest Rate
The APR is the reference to the interest rate the lender charges the borrower for the use of the money. You need to know a little about APR because it shows what the cost of the credit actually is. The cost of credit is more than just knowing the interest rate; it is important to be familiar with the annual percentage rate.

The APR is the cost of credit measured on a yearly basis and expresses a yearly rate. By comparing the APR of loans or credit cards etc you can work out which card is likely to cost you the most. You need to find out what the correct annual percentage rate being charged to you is so you can make decisions on your lending situation because it will affect the selection of credit cards or other loans you are looking at taking on.

Using the APR to your Advantage
If you carry a balance from month to month on your credit card and the card has a high APR, the only way to reduce the interest is to pay more each month. If you only pay the minimum amount, not only will it take you a long time to reduce your debt, but you will also pay more interest.

All the time you carry a balance on the card, the interest adds up. A credit card balance can actually increase considerably when you only make the minimum payments. This is because the balance on your card is left to accrue interest over time and so it just keeps growing. Check out what the APR is because the lower your APR, the lower the fees charged to you.

What’s the Difference Between a Fixed and Variable Rate?

  • Fixed - A fixed interest rate means that the rate of finance charged does not change throughout the term of the loan. For example, you may take out a loan at 5% fixed for three years. This means that the interest rate will not change over that three-year period and will remain at that 5%.
  • Variable - A variable rate, however, is determined by an index such as the prime rate charged by banks. The variable rate allows the bank to charge an interest that more correctly reflects the current market conditions.

When shopping for a loan, make sure you understand clearly the difference between a fixed and a variable rate.

Lack Of Time! Perception or Reality

One day you’re going to college, studying and having fun; the next thing you know you’re working long hours, eating on the run, rushing home to take care of your kids or your spouse/significant other. Where does the time go? Managing time means more than managing your life against the clock. It means taking time to look at the priorities that you say are important to you. How many times do you say “I don’t have time?” Are you really saying “that is not my priority” Think about it? We are always telling others and ourselves “I would if I had the time.”

We think we have no choices about how we spend our time. Technology that was supposed to make life easier has actually done the opposite and is eating away at our personal time. Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), computers, email, cell phones and pagers all compete for our attention. Electronic organizers and communication devices create an “on-call” work mentality that takes priority over personal responsibilities. Lack of time is more perception than reality. The problem is the lack of commitment to your priorities after you’ve set them. People overwork, set time to watch television and surf the Internet, but many people don’t set time to do the things that they say are important to them; for example; exercise, interacting with family or just spending time clearing your mind and doing something you enjoy. In one of my previous articles, “Wellness After 30: Getting The Most Out of Later Life”, I talked about the importance of taking a closer look at how you spend your time on an average day; writing down your daily activities to find opportunities to include things you might not have known existed.

In order to free up some of the time you spend watching television, you may want to record the TV shows you enjoy watching, and when you play them back, fast forward through the commercials. You will gain 12 minutes of personal time for every hour of TV you watch. Don’t be forced to follow programming schedules. Watch fewer shows but take the time to enjoy the ones you do see. Try limiting your time surfing the internet to one hour per day. Analyze the total number of hours you are spending at work versus how productive you really are on an average day.

Time is finite: 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day and 7 days a week. You can’t save it, but you can waste it. The amount of time we have does not matter, but rather the way we use it. Life can change in an instant so it’s important to make the most of what we have. Make time for what’s important to you: connecting with others, working in a career you’re passionate about, being proactive about your health by being physically active. Here are five steps you can take right now to get started.

1. Establish priorities that are truly important to you.

If your life is already full of things to do and you have no more time to add anything else, which is the case for most people. What do you do? Well you definitely don’t want to add anything to an already full plate. You must take some things away in order to free up time.

If I examined your life right now, would I be able to see what’s really important to you? Ask yourself what’s working, what’s not working and what could be better.

2. Re-evaluate your priorities using your time the way you really want.

As a mom, I have an ongoing struggle to get my children to realize that as they get older I need them to be accountable for the things that are within their capacity to handle, so that I can have more time for what I want to do. I have easily done this in every other aspect of my life, but this particular area is not so easy. I work consistently to get to what I really want in this area of my life everyday.

Take an inventory of your life; Are there areas of your life that need your attention, energy and resources? Look at the people that are in your life and assess why they are there. Do they fuel you or drain you?

3. Make time for yourself.

Make yourself number one as a priority. Spend your time and energy on things that bring you joy and make decisions based on what you want instead of what others want.

Practice excellent self-care. Focus on yourself in order to strengthen your balance, well-being and quality of life.

4. Set boundaries around your life.

Say “no” with respect when you already have a full plate. Don’t let your guilt talk you into saying yes. Explain to others that in order to honor your priorities you cannot add anything else right now. You can reschedule or just decide that it does not contribute to your overall priorities.

Learn your limits. We don’t say “no” frequently enough and we end up paying a price. For example, your best friend asks you to go to the mall today, your son has soccer practice, your daughter has violin lessons and your spouse/significant other is working late. What do you do? You can tell your best friend that you have to reschedule the mall trip for another day in order to honor your priorities.

5. Time is a gift.

If you found out today that you had 30 days left to live. What would become important to you? You shouldn’t wait for a message like that to live your life to the fullest. Spend your precious time right now being alive and enjoying your life fulfilling your purpose on this earth everyday.

Now that you’ve freed up some time, create an action plan and set goals to achieve what you say is important to you at this very moment.
